FOR WHOM IS NA’OR
Co-founded by Rabbi Aviva Funke and Rabbi Gabriel Botnick, Na’or is a transformative prayer experience for spiritual seekers as well as regular davveners with the desire to connect with Source, themselves, life and people on deeper levels through ancient Hebrew prayers and open-heart conversations.
We chant new melodies using traditional texts of the Jewish liturgy. We meet each prayer by making intentional connections before we open our voices and let our hearts sing accompanied by string and wind instruments, and drums.

INTRODUCTION TO NA’OR
WHY NA’OR
It is easy to feel disconnected, not just from organized Jewish life, but also from life and society in general. Loneliness, stress, anxiety, and depression are epidemic in all generations across the spectrum of society.
What can give us a deeper sense of belonging? A greater sense of purpose? How can we cope with a mainstream reality that seems to have gone mad? Where can we reconnect to our Jewish identity, shared values, and cultural traditions?
INCLUSIVE, NOT EXCLUSIVE
Unfortunately, many prayer communities around the world cultivate a way of communal prayer that requires high levels of learnedness and literacy of the Hebrew language. Sadly, that requirement shuts most Jews and non-Jews out from having a meaningful experience. Regardless of whether you go to a Reform Temple, Conservative Synagogue or Orthodox Shul or any other Jewish congregation, many prayer communities seem to rush through the liturgy in hushed tones, turning our souls’ quest for expression into a burdensome and alienating experience.
Frustrated, many Jewish seekers find themselves turning to yoga, meditation, or other forms of spirituality. And they discover Na’or!
